York’s largest parenting community, York Mumbler, has everything you need. Read on to find out more…
When lockdown began on the 23rd March I had to make significant changes to the York Mumbler website to meet the needs of parents in York. Pre-lock down the York Mumbler website received over 30,000 hits a month from parents looking for information on weekly classes and groups, inspiration for days out and ideas for birthday parties to name but a few. With new restrictions in place the website had to be reorganised and new, free resources created to continue to support the community.
Over 50 new blogs have been created to help you support your family during Coronavirus as well as keeping everyone up to date on virtual groups and classes for kids, food and meal delivery services, how to explain Coronavirus to children and official information and advice from trusted resources. You can find inspiration on keeping the kids entertained such as how to make walks fun for kids, virtual trips and tours, 101 things to do at home and in the garden, life skills to teach your kids and free online educational resources.
In addition to the new blogs, there are also plenty of free printable resources, including:
It’s been such a strange time for parents during lockdown – on the one hand it’s such a gift having an enforced ‘pause’ button pressed for a lot of families – but then we’ve had to entertain and educate our children 24/7 – so I wanted to do what Mumbler has always done best… make life easier for parents. York Mumbler started very much as a community business and this will always be at the heart of what we’re about – sharing the best ideas among parents in York so life can be that bit easier for all of us.
Not only have we been supporting parents with free online resources, the website has also continued to promote local businesses, in particular those offering virtual classes and food delivery services. Since launching in 2015, the York Mumbler website and blog has been utilised by over 800 business in York to advertise their local services, products and events. I am keen to continue to promote local businesses as they begin to re-open, there will be options for all budgets, including free basic listings for all.
As lockdown restrictions begin to ease you can be sure to find the latest updates on the York Mumbler website to find out when some of your children’s favourite spots re-open for business.
We have a range of promotional options for local businesses.
